The Learning Studio Classroom Advantage

The Learning Studio contains breakout areas with soft seating, as well as flexible learning zones, for your daughter to collaborate with others or choose to work on her own.

The Small Learning Community School Design

By placing several Learning Studios in close proximity to each other – surrounding a cafe or project area, a close knit sense of belonging will help your daughter to feel more in touch with her learning environment.

Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences

There are special areas throughout the campus that accommodate various kinds of learning styles, presentation of discipline in a number of ways and assessment of learning through a variety of means.

The Camp-Fire Lecture Hall

Campfires are way to learn from experts or storytellers. Ensuring that rooms used for presentations have a large space with angled walls and a ceiling, as well as absorptive surfaces to soften reverberation, creates for the perfect milieu in which to learn from experts or storytellers.

The Common Watering Hole Collaborative Space

Watering holes are places where you can learn from your peers. Contrary to what traditional schools believe, dialogue and collaborative learning are critical to the development of well-rounded students. The availability of common areas with access to a refrigerator, sink or microwave, give students ample opportunity to engage, discuss and learn from each other.

The Cave Individual Study Space

Caves are places to learn from yourself. Unlike the concept of the library, the Cave Space takes advantage of normal pathways in the school to allow for small soft-seating enclosures that can facilitate individual study, reflection, quiet reading or even creativity without the mandate of total silence that students often find oppressive.

A focus on Daylight and Solar Energy

Of all the elements that make up a high performance school, natural lighting has the greatest impact. Hence, great care has been given to ensure ample natural lighting and sufficient window views, while eliminating sources of sun glare and improving acoustics and ventilation.

The need for Soft Seating

Much like adults at work, students too need soft, ergonomic seating to enhance their ability to be good learners. With movable seating and wireless internet connectivity, these soft seating areas truly come alive as high powered work spaces.

Age-appropriate Furniture

Our education furniture comes from Knowledge International, a supplier of furniture to institutions such as Harvard and Stanford. Chairs that help support a growing child’s spinal curvature ensure there’s no loss of concentration due to incorrect posture. Desks that are light enough for your daughter to reposition anywhere in the learning area to accommodate different teaching and learning styles.

Child-friendly flooring

Our flooring in education areas is specially imported from Europe and is soft, anti-bacterial, solvent free, and a green product.

Natural Ventilation

Our buildings are designed to maximize access to natural ventilation. Like daylight, natural air contributes to a healthy environment. It can alleviate or eliminate some of the more serious problems associated with spending excessive amounts of time in conditioned spaces.

Transparency

A high level of transparency in formal and informal areas in our buildings encourage a community feel and let in sunlight and fresh air. It also encourages higher accountability.

Indoor Outdoor Connection

Human beings are genetically engineered to be outdoor animals and the need to be connected to the outdoors is never stronger than when we are young. All our learning studios have outdoor connections with sliding doors to create strong connections between indoor spaces and outdoor vistas and learning terraces.

Interior and Exterior Vista

Given that so much of learning in school happens in enclosed places, there is great benefit to expanding a student’s horizons (literally) by creating visible lines of sight that extend as far as possible outside the room. Our students can see the reserved forests and mountains from all learning studios. Come see for yourself.

Smart Classes

All of our classrooms are digital, which improves educational outcomes by personalizing learning and higher engagement through interactive learning. Students develop a discerning mindset through critical thinking and teachers spend less time on administrative and repetitive tasks.
