Houses At Vantage hall
Mythical creatures have always been a part of stories and traditions around the world. We are inspired by these legendary creatures that represent strength, resilience and transformation – the qualities that we aim to foster in our girls. Our Houses are named after three mythical birds, each symbolizing power and persistence. We address our students as Falcons, representing the freedom, ambition and spirit we want them to have as they chase their dreams and achieve great things.
Griffin
Strive To The Utmost
The Griffin is a legendary creature with the body, tail, and back legs of a lion; the head and wings of an eagle; and sometimes an eagle's talons as its front feet. Because the lion was traditionally considered the king of the beasts, and the eagle the king of the birds, by the Middle Ages, the Griffin was thought to be an especially powerful and majestic creature.
Phoenix
As High As Honour
The Phoenix is a long-lived bird associated with Greek mythology (with analogs in many cultures) that cyclically regenerated or is otherwise born again. Associated with the sun, a Phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor.
Thunderbird
Conquer From Within
The Thunderbird, in North American Indian mythology, is a powerful spirit in the form of a bird. By its work, the earth was watered and vegetation grew. Lightning was believed to flash from its beak, and the beating of its wings was thought to represent the rolling of thunder. It is often portrayed with an extra head on its abdomen. It is considered a supernatural being of power and strength.
